Who We Are.
IIBPN was established on 27 April 2011, following formal approvals from the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Justice. Initially incorporated as The Institute of Business Advisers (IBA), the organisation later adopted its current name — a change designed to reflect a strengthened national profile and an explicit, dedicated focus on the evolving field of International Business.
Committed to delivering excellence in education, training, and applied research, IIBPN is an officially recognised, non-profit professional body entrusted with the assessment, accreditation, and continuing professional development of international business professionals, practitioners, and consultants across Nigeria.
Our educational frameworks, training standards, and policy development align with benchmarks set by leading world-class institutions in the global business arena. The Institute secured international recognition in 2014, achieving formal candidacy status with the International Accreditation Organization on 16 September 2014 — a milestone that affirmed our commitment to global best practice.

Our inaugural induction ceremony for Associate and Fellow members was held on 12 August 2012, welcoming a cohort of new members drawn from across the nation. Since then, we have remained steadfast in our pursuit of excellence in all teaching, training, and research activities.

We maintain strategic international partnerships to advance opportunities for our members and the wider Nigerian business community. These include a collaboration with JP Western UK Ltd, through which we support Nigerian exporters in product market development, customer engagement, and cross-border trade.
We also provide guidance on market entry strategies, business registration, and company formation — empowering Nigerian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and business owners to internationalise and expand their operations from within Nigeria or into new overseas markets.
